What is MineChess?
MineChess is a free, independent browser chess game with Minecraft-inspired character pieces. Play computer opponents, invite a friend, share one device or practise with puzzles and interactive lessons.
Do I need an account to play?
No. You can start a computer game, use the lessons or solve puzzles as a guest. Progress is stored in this browser. Signing in is optional and lets you sync completed activities to a private account.
Can I play on my phone or tablet?
Yes. MineChess is designed for modern phone, tablet and desktop browsers. Tap a piece, then a highlighted destination. There is also a classic-piece setting and keyboard support.
How do I challenge a friend?
Choose Challenge a friend, create a private room and share the invitation link. Your friend can join with a nickname, without a public profile. There is no open chat.
How do daily puzzles work?
A validated puzzle from the rotating collection is featured each day at 00:00 UTC. The puzzle explains whose turn it is, offers optional hints and plays the defending replies. Shared puzzle links remain available.
Is MineChess an official Minecraft game?
No. MineChess is an independent fan-made project. It is not an official Minecraft product and is not approved by or associated with Mojang or Microsoft.
