Learn by making moves
Solo practice offers a clue, the relevant piece, then a suggested legal move. There is no daily hint limit. Choose “Try without hints” for an independent challenge, or return to supported practice without restarting.

Do I need to sign up or download anything?
No. Computer play is free in a modern web browser. JavaScript is required for the board. An account is optional for syncing completed games, puzzles and lessons.
Can I close the browser and carry on later?
Recent unfinished computer games are saved on this browser. Open My games to continue. Normal browser storage is required; private browsing, clearing storage or switching browsers may remove access to a local game.
How do I learn from a finished game?
Open the completed game's review to step through its moves and see an engine estimate of the advantage. Positive scores favour White and negative scores favour Black. Estimates can change with deeper analysis and are not guaranteed outcomes.
What should a complete beginner try first?
Start with the first computer opponent or a short interactive lesson. Piece names help you identify the characters, and Settings lets you switch to classic chess symbols. Neither choice changes the rules.
